New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell has successfully intercepted a sophisticated international arms trafficking ring with alleged ties to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence. During a high-stakes operation, law enforcement officials apprehended nine suspects and confiscated a substantial inventory of advanced weaponry. The seized cache included 23 firearms, featuring high-end foreign pistols such as Glocks and Ziganas, alongside 92 live cartridges. Investigators also discovered country-made weapons originating from Munger, Bihar, indicating a complex hybrid supply chain that merges international smuggling with domestic illegal manufacturing.

Additional Commissioner of Police Pramod Kushwaha revealed during a press briefing that the syndicate utilized drones and cross-border corridors to funnel weapons into the country. The investigation points toward a central figure, Shahbaz Ansari, a resident of Khurja who is reportedly managing the network’s operations from Bangladesh. Ansari, who was previously implicated in the Sidhu Moosewala murder investigation, allegedly absconded to Bangladesh after being released on bail. Supporting the group’s logistics from abroad is his uncle, Rehan Ansari, who is believed to be coordinating activities from Dubai.

The module’s operational strategy involved using transit points in Nepal and the Punjab border to move consignments into the Indian heartland. Once across the border, the weapons were allegedly received by Rahil Ansari, the primary coordinator for domestic distribution. The syndicate employed several distributors, including individuals identified as Fardeen, Vishal Singhania, and Ahmed, who were tasked with supplying the lethal hardware to prominent gangs and criminal organizations operating throughout the Delhi-NCR region and Punjab.

This breakthrough highlights the evolving threat of remote-controlled criminal enterprises that leverage international borders to destabilize regional security. The Special Cell is currently executing follow-up raids across multiple states to identify additional conduits and financial backers of the group. Authorities expect more details to emerge as the interrogation of the nine arrested members continues, specifically regarding the specific criminal hits or activities the gang had planned using the smuggled Glock and Zigana pistols.
