Amritsar: A violent confrontation in Amritsar’s Sultanwind area resulted in the death of a young man and left four others critically injured late Saturday night, April 18, 2026. The deceased, identified as Dalbir Singh (also known as Sabu), was a resident of the Drummanwala Bazaar area. The incident occurred when a meeting intended to settle a dispute over a minor road scuffle escalated into a targeted shooting.
According to family members and eyewitnesses, the trouble began earlier in the day when Dalbir Singh was standing outside his house with his wife. A group of youths reportedly drove past them at high speed, prompting Dalbir to ask them to slow down. This brief interaction led to a heated argument. Later that night, Dalbir was allegedly called to a specific location under the pretext of a “compromise” meeting to resolve the friction.

The victims’ party arrived at the meeting point around 11:30 PM, expecting a peaceful resolution. However, they were reportedly ambushed by a group of six to seven individuals who opened fire immediately upon their arrival.
