Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inspected the under-construction buildings of the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School and the Sports Hostel at Kalpa of Kinnaur District.
During the visit, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the construction work of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School and ensure timely completion of the projects. He said that additional Rs. 10 crore would be released to the Public Works Department (PWD) for the construction of the school building.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 2 crore for the construction of Balika Ashram on the land identified within the school premises. He stressed on maintaining high construction quality and instructed officials to accelerate the work on the Sports Hostel as well.

The Chief Minister asked Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi to regularly monitor the progress of both the Day Boarding School and the Sports Hostel.

Earlier, at the Rest House in Reckong Peo, a delegation from the District Ex-Servicemen Association met the Chief Minister and requested financial assistance for the construction of a Sainik Rest House. Responding to their demand, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 2 crore for the project.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with local residents at Reckong Peo and Kalpa Rest Houses, listened to their grievances and directed the local administration to ensure prompt resolution.
