Amritsar: In a significant development, the Amritsar Rural Police, in collaboration with Faridkot Police, have successfully solved the grenade attack case at PS Bhindi Saida, resulting in the arrest of six individuals and the recovery of two firearms.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the group operated under the guidance of a Pakistan-based handler, reportedly linked to the ISI, who orchestrated terror activities in Punjab from abroad. Authorities revealed that the accused were radicalized and promised lucrative rewards to target police installations.
The attack took place on the night of March 29–30, 2026, following careful reconnaissance and preparation involving hand grenades. The arrests mark a major step forward in preventing further threats to law enforcement personnel in the region.
An FIR has been registered under the Explosive Substances Act, UAPA, BNS, and the Arms Act. Police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover both upstream and downstream connections, aiming to dismantle the network entirely.
Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of communities across the state.
