CHANDIGARH, April 11, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu launched a strong attack on Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, accusing his government of failing to effectively implement the Ayushman scheme.
Pannu said that instead of addressing issues in Haryana, the Chief Minister has been repeatedly visiting Punjab and making baseless statements about the AAP government, while healthcare services in his own state are in a critical condition.
AAP Raises Concerns Over Ayushman Scheme in Haryana
Baltej Pannu pointed out that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has warned the Haryana government about pending payments under the Ayushman scheme.
According to him, due to these delays, many private hospitals are now preparing to stop treatment under the scheme, which could seriously affect poor patients.
He questioned the Haryana government, asking where patients would go for treatment if hospitals stop providing services under the scheme.
Punjab’s Sehat Yojna Highlighted as Model
Pannu said that while central schemes are facing challenges in Haryana, the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has ensured cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh for families under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna.
He stated that more than 35 lakh families in Punjab have already been covered under the scheme, making it one of the most impactful healthcare initiatives in the country.
He also highlighted that Punjab has focused on improving education and healthcare, which has brought major relief to common people.
Advice to Haryana CM to Focus on State Issues
Baltej Pannu advised Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to focus on resolving issues within his own state instead of criticising Punjab.
He said that Punjab has witnessed major improvements in healthcare through Aam Aadmi Clinics, upgraded government hospitals and free treatment schemes.
He further added that treatment under the Ayushman scheme in Haryana is reportedly facing serious issues, yet the Haryana leadership continues to question Punjab’s progress.
AAP Defends Governance and Attacks ‘Political Statements’
Pannu said that comparisons should be made with the facilities being provided by the Punjab government rather than making baseless allegations.
He added that people are aware of ground realities and can clearly see which government is working and which is only making political statements.
The AAP leader concluded that Punjab has shown that with honest intent, it is possible to provide high-quality healthcare facilities to citizens.
