Chandigarh: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has taken another humane and child-friendly initiative for the welfare of needy and children with special needs. To ensure effective communication for children and address language-related challenges, 42 Special Educators, 1 Sign Language Interpreter and 48 Translators have been empanelled.

Sharing further details, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that children with special needs often face difficulties in expressing their emotions and concerns, which impacts their care and rehabilitation process. These experts will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication between children and Child Welfare Authorities, ensuring that their needs are better understood and addressed.

The Special Educators, Sign Language Interpreter and Translators will help create a child-friendly environment, provide counselling support, expedite rehabilitation processes and assist in reintegrating children with their families or guardians. This initiative will significantly strengthen the support system for children requiring special care and protection.

The Punjab Government aims not only to ensure the safety of children but also to provide them with a supportive environment where they can grow with confidence and dignity. This initiative will help understand the emotional needs of children with special needs and bring positive changes in their lives.

The Minister reiterated that the Punjab Government remains committed to the welfare of every section of society and is continuously taking humane and child-centric steps to safeguard children’s rights and secure their future.
