Amritsar: Tension gripped Bhaghpur Bet village under Bhindi Saidan police station on Monday morning after a clash broke out between two groups. One side accused the other of opening fire in the air, vandalizing property, and misbehaving with women, while the accused have strongly denied all charges.

Kashmir Singh, a resident of the village, alleged that Jaswinder Singh frequently harassed women near their house and used abusive language. When the family objected, Bindar Singh, Kukku Singh, Shinda Singh, and around 10-15 others allegedly attacked their house. Singh further claimed that the attackers also fired shots in the air, and the incident was captured on video.

According to the victim’s family, the attackers were armed with swords, axes, and stones. They alleged that the group entered the street, opened fire, and caused damage inside the house. The family has demanded a forensic probe into the firing.

However, Bholli Kaur, representing the other side, dismissed the accusations as baseless. She said neither assault nor firing took place and described the allegations as false. She asserted that the truth will come out, and they are ready to pursue the matter legally.

Station House Officer (SHO) Satnam Singh of Bhindi Saidan police station confirmed that statements from both parties have been recorded. He added that evidence from the spot is being collected and assured that strict legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty after a thorough investigation.
