Chandigarh: Former Punjab MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Tuesday announced the formation of her new political outfit, the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party, nearly two months after her expulsion from the Indian National Congress.

Making the announcement from Amritsar via social media platform X, Sidhu described the move as a “much-awaited” step aimed at offering a credible national alternative. She said the decision followed a careful assessment of the performance of existing political leadership in the country.

Sidhu, who is married to former cricketer and ex-Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, stated that the party has been formed by like-minded individuals committed to serving the nation and addressing public expectations with sincerity.

Outlining the party’s vision, she said the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party would work across states with a unified goal of ensuring justice, peace, and transparent governance. She also underlined the role of spiritual values and “higher consciousness” in shaping the party’s ideological foundation.

Focusing on Punjab, Sidhu said her party aims to restore the state’s “lost glory” and promote a society rooted in love, equality, freedom, and selfless service. She reiterated her commitment to building a governance model based on the principle of “of the people, for the people, and by the people,” guided by truth and compassion.
