Top Official Reviews Progress of International-Level Memorial in Ambala

Chandigarh: Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana, K. Makrand Pandurang, on Tuesday inspected the international-level Shaheedi Smarak being constructed in Ambala on the Ambala–Delhi National Highway. He reviewed the ongoing works at the site and issued necessary directions. He directed that all remaining works be completed in a time-bound manner while maintaining the highest standards of quality. On this occasion, Director, Shaheedi Smarak, Dr. Kuldeep Saini, along with representatives of the concerned agency, briefed the Director General in detail about the works related to the Smarak.

The Director General also reviewed the status of works completed so far and took detailed information about the pending works. He also held a meeting at the site to review the overall work plan and issued necessary guidelines. After the meeting, he carried out a detailed inspection of the ongoing works at the Shaheedi Smarak. He directed that better coordination be ensured with the NHAI department for maintaining cleanliness and carrying out other related works outside the main gate of the Smarak. He also directed that all finishing works related to the Smarak be completed on priority.

He further directed that proper level checking be carried out to ensure that no water accumulates during the rainy season, and all manholes installed at the site should be placed as per the required levels. During the inspection, he also emphasized that works related to electricity, sewerage and other services should be checked through third-party inspection by forming a dedicated team. He made it clear that no compromise would be tolerated in the quality of work.

During the inspection,K. Makrand Pandurang also reviewed the food court and shopping complex buildings and issued necessary directions. He said that all minor works identified during the inspection must be completed before the next meeting. He also directed the concerned agency to ensure that all pending works are completed at an accelerated pace.

The Director General also inspected the auditorium building and reviewed the seating arrangements as well as the sound system. He said that this is an important project and will serve as a source of inspiration for the younger generation; therefore, all works must be carried out with proper coordination. He also reviewed the artwork-related works and issued necessary directions.

He further informed that before the inauguration of the project, the Chief Minister of Haryana will soon visit the site to review the progress. Keeping this in view, all concerned departments and construction agencies have been directed to ensure completion of all pending works with full dedication.

On this occasion, Director of the Shaheedi Smarak, Dr. Kuldeep Saini, apprised the Director General about the progress made on various components of the project and agenda points.
