Amritsar: Authorities in Amritsar have intensified investigations after a letter circulating on social media claimed responsibility for a recent explosion at a police station in the Ajnala area. The message, purportedly issued in the name of the Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA), alleges involvement in the attack carried out on March 30.
According to the contents of the viral document, the group claimed it executed grenade attacks targeting a police station in Ajnala and accepted full responsibility for the incident. The letter also included threats and references to alleged grievances, raising concerns among security agencies.
However, officials have cautioned that the authenticity of the document has not yet been verified. Police have stressed that no conclusions can be drawn until a detailed probe is completed. “All aspects, including the source and credibility of the viral message, are being examined thoroughly,” a senior अधिकारी said.
Following the incident and the circulation of the letter, security has been tightened across the region. Surveillance has been stepped up, and intelligence agencies have been placed on alert to prevent any further escalation.
Investigators are also analysing digital trails linked to the document to determine whether it originated from genuine sources or is part of a misinformation attempt aimed at creating panic.
The explosion at the police station had already triggered a high-level inquiry, and the emergence of the letter has added a new dimension to the case. Officials reiterated that verified details will be shared only after the investigation reaches a conclusive stage.
Meanwhile, residents have been urged to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information on social media, as authorities continue efforts to ascertain the facts behind both the blast and the claims surrounding it.
