Jammu: The ongoing Chaitra Navratri festival has witnessed an overwhelming influx of pilgrims at the revered Vaishno Devi shrine, with authorities reporting that more than 2.69 lakh devotees have visited the holy cave temple so far.
Officials associated with the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board confirmed that the pilgrimage is progressing smoothly despite the heavy rush. By March 25, a total of 2,69,716 devotees had completed the yatra and offered prayers at the shrine.
The spiritual fervour of Chaitra Navratri has drawn devotees from across the country, many of whom can be seen making the uphill journey on foot while chanting religious slogans. The atmosphere along the route remains vibrant, reflecting deep faith and devotion.
Authorities have strengthened arrangements to manage the surge, ensuring crowd control, safety, and basic facilities for pilgrims. Security personnel and support staff have been deployed along the trekking route to assist visitors and maintain order.
The annual Navratri pilgrimage to the shrine is considered highly auspicious, and the significant turnout this year highlights the enduring spiritual importance of the site among devotees.
