Dabwali, Haryana: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini flagged off the Dabwali Youth Marathon, an event held as part of the ongoing ‘Haryana Uday’ campaign aimed at steering young people away from drug addiction and towards healthy lifestyles.

Speaking at the launch, CM Saini described the marathon as more than a sporting event. “This morning marks not just a race, but the dawn of a new Haryana. It reflects our resolve to pull the youth out of the shadows of drugs and guide them towards the strength and discipline of sports,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the scale of the ‘Haryana Uday’ initiative, noting that 2,483 programs have already been conducted across the state, with over 16.5 lakh people taking part so far. He added that the campaign has grown into the largest public outreach movement in Haryana’s history, spreading awareness on social issues while encouraging fitness and community participation.

The Dabwali marathon saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of young runners, who carried banners and chanted slogans promoting a drug-free Haryana. Local officials, sports personalities, and community leaders also joined the event, voicing their support for the cause.

Authorities said the momentum generated by ‘Haryana Uday’ programs, especially in rural regions, is helping create a sense of unity against substance abuse and opening new opportunities for youth engagement in sports and cultural activities.
