BPCL Reassures Public on Fuel Availability, Dismisses Shortage Rumours

New Delhi: Amid growing speculation over fuel supply disruptions, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Wednesday clarified that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the country and urged citizens to avoid panic buying.

In an official statement shared on its social media platform, the state-run oil company said that reports suggesting limited fuel availability are baseless. It emphasised that India has sufficient reserves and that distribution networks are functioning without any interruption.

“Fuel supplies remain stable across the country. Our operations are running normally, and we are committed to ensuring uninterrupted availability,” the company stated, appealing to the public not to rely on unverified information.

BPCL further highlighted that India continues to maintain adequate stock levels of key petroleum products, including petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel. It also noted that the country is a net exporter of refined fuels, reinforcing the strength of its supply position.

The company advised consumers against rushing to fuel stations or making unnecessary purchases, stressing that such behaviour could create avoidable pressure on otherwise stable supply chains.

The clarification comes at a time when fluctuations in global oil markets—driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia—have contributed to uncertainty and speculation. However, BPCL maintained that domestic fuel logistics remain unaffected and fully operational.

Authorities continue to encourage citizens to follow official updates and avoid spreading or acting on rumours related to essential commodities.
