Sadar Bazar: Police have lodged multiple FIRs against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav over a social media post attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to officials, the first case was filed at Sadar Bazar Police Station based on a complaint by BJP city president Shilpi Gupta. Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi confirmed that the FIR was registered on Friday.

Gupta alleged that Yadav’s remarks against the Prime Minister were “indecorous” and caused “immense anger among the people of the country.” The complaint also claimed that the post sparked resentment among BJP workers and the general public.

The controversial message, posted from the official RJD account, stated: “Today, the vote thief will come to Gaya, Bihar, and will tell lie after lie in front of the Biharis.”

The former Bihar deputy chief minister has been booked under sections 353(2) (spreading rumours) and 197(1)A (making allegations through a picture) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In a parallel development, another FIR was filed in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district following a complaint by local MLA Milind Narote. A police officer said Yadav was booked there under BNS sections 196 (promoting enmity between groups), 356 (defamation), 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), and 353 (statements causing public mischief).

With two separate cases now registered against him, Yadav faces escalating legal challenges over his remarks.
