New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage on Monday to three iconic figures of India’s freedom struggle—Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar—remembering their sacrifice and enduring legacy.

Marking their martyrdom anniversary, the Prime Minister reflected on their courage and unwavering dedication to the nation, stating that their actions continue to inspire generations across the country. He emphasized that despite their young age, the trio demonstrated remarkable bravery and a deep sense of commitment toward India’s independence.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, Modi said the nation bows in respect to the “brave sons of Bharat Mata,” whose sacrifice remains deeply embedded in the country’s collective consciousness.

He noted that the revolutionaries chose to challenge colonial rule with determination, placing national interest above their own lives. Their vision of justice, patriotism and fearless defiance, he added, continues to resonate strongly in modern India.

The day marks the anniversary of the execution of the three freedom fighters by British authorities in 1931, an event that became a defining moment in India’s struggle against colonial rule.

Across the country, tributes were paid at memorials and public gatherings, as citizens remembered the lives and contributions of the young revolutionaries who left an indelible mark on India’s history.
