Bathinda: In a coordinated strike against organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in collaboration with the Bathinda Police, has arrested two individuals identified as Jacky Kumar (alias Jacky) and Vikas Arora. The operation successfully intercepted the duo who were allegedly plotting to rob a local businessman in Bathinda. The arrests are part of a broader crackdown by the Punjab Police to neutralize criminal elements and prevent violent street crimes across the state.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the AGTF suggest that the suspects had recently procured illegal firearms from Delhi to execute their criminal plans. During the arrest, security forces recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols, two magazines, and four live cartridges from the possession of the accused. Law enforcement agencies are currently verifying further linkages to determine the source of the weapons in the national capital and to identify any larger gang affiliations.

One of the arrested individuals, Vikas Arora, is reported to have a prior criminal record, including a case involving domestic violence. The police are now scrutinizing his past activities to see if he was involved in any other recent extortion or robbery attempts in the Malwa region. The AGTF is also looking into whether the duo was working independently or acting on instructions from interstate gang leaders.

Following the successful operation, the Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to public safety through their official social media handles, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal weapon possession and planned criminal activities. The accused are currently in police custody, and a formal case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
