AYODHYA — President Droupadi Murmu visited the sacred Ayodhya Dham on Thursday to participate in special religious ceremonies at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. During her visit, she installed a 150-kilogram gold-plated metal plate known as the ‘Shri Ram Yantra,’ a significant addition to the divine temple’s spiritual architecture. The President was received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak. The ceremony took place in the presence of various dignitaries, including spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi, as the President performed the aarti and offered prayers for the happiness and prosperity of the nation.
The ‘Shri Ram Yantra’ is a square metal plate meticulously crafted using Vedic mathematics and engraved with sacred Vedic and ‘beej’ mantras. Designed to generate positive spiritual energy and symbolize the divine presence of Lord Ram, the Yantra was modeled after the version at the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham under the guidance of Swami Vijayendra Saraswati. According to temple trust member Anil Mishra, the Yantra was brought to Ayodhya in a ceremonial procession from Tirupati Devasthanam nearly two years ago and has been worshipped daily since. Its installation on the second floor of the temple was timed to coincide with the auspicious ‘abhijit muhurat’ as part of the ongoing Chaitra Navratri and Hindu New Year celebrations.
In light of the high-profile visit, security across Ayodhya was significantly intensified, with over 7,000 personnel deployed within the temple complex and throughout the city. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover confirmed that additional forces were stationed at sensitive locations, while traffic restrictions were strictly enforced to ensure the safety of the President and the throngs of devotees. This visit marks a poignant moment in the temple’s history, further embedding traditional Vedic rituals and national leadership into the fabric of the Ram Janmabhoomi’s evolving legacy.
