Jalandhar: Security agencies were put on alert in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Monday after three educational institutions received threatening emails claiming explosives had been planted on their premises.

Among the schools that reportedly received the messages were Cambridge School and Delhi Public School. The emails, sent early in the morning, warned of a possible bomb blast, prompting immediate action from local authorities.

Officials said the threatening message also contained a controversial demand, stating that statues of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar should be removed by April 14. The sender warned that failure to comply could lead to an explosion.

In addition to targeting schools, the email also included a threat related to a train traveling to Delhi, raising further concerns among security agencies.

Following the alerts, police teams and bomb disposal squads were deployed to the schools to carry out thorough checks. As a precautionary measure, security was tightened in the area while officials began investigating the origin of the email.

Authorities are currently working to trace the sender and determine whether the threat is genuine or a hoax. Investigations are underway, and officials have urged the public to remain calm while security checks continue.
