Chandigarh: The Punjabi entertainment industry and millions of fans were left in shock on Thursday after news broke of the sudden demise of legendary comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla. Known for his impeccable comic timing and iconic character “Chacha Chatra,” Bhalla’s passing has triggered an outpouring of grief across Punjab and beyond.
Leading the tributes, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “The sudden departure of Jaswinder Bhalla ji from this world is very sad… My heart is heavy. May Waheguru bless his soul with eternal peace. Uncle Chatra will forever remain in our hearts,” Mann said in a heartfelt message.
Prominent Punjabi actor and filmmaker Gippy Grewal also mourned the comedian’s demise, recalling his personal bond with Bhalla. “It’s very hard to believe. I’m in shock. He was like a father, a mentor, and a talented actor to all of us in the industry. We created memories together and shared moments like family. This is the worst news.
