AMRITSAR — Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has announced a significant reward for Sikh students who successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations. In a press statement released on Saturday, Dhami confirmed that the committee will honour these achievers with a sum of ₹1 lakh each to celebrate their selection into India’s higher administrative services.

Dhami highlighted the accomplishments of Simrandeep Kaur, who secured an impressive 15th rank nationwide, and Sunwardeep Singh, among other successful candidates. He noted with particular pride that Simrandeep Kaur is a student of Khalsa College Patiala, an institution managed by the SGPC. The President described their success as a testament to the hard work and determination of the youth and a moment of immense pride for the entire Sikh community.

Beyond the immediate rewards, the SGPC President unveiled long-term plans to support aspiring civil servants. He announced that a dedicated fund will be allocated in the upcoming SGPC budget specifically for administrative examination preparation. This initiative aims to provide financial and educational support to needy Gursikh children, encouraging more youth from the community to pursue careers in competitive national services.

Advocate Dhami extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students and their families, wishing them a bright future in their respective administrative roles. He reiterated that the SGPC remains committed to empowering the youth through education and will continue to play an active role in guiding them toward high-level professional achievements.
