New Delhi: The man accused of attacking Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public event has been remanded to five days in police custody.
The accused, identified as Rajesh, was apprehended on the spot shortly after the incident unfolded on Wednesday.
Following his arrest, he was taken to a local court. After hearing the case, the court granted the police a five-day remand to further investigate the motive and circumstances behind the attack.
Police are also examining his background and electronic devices to determine if there were any prior plans or associates involved.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened around the Chief Minister in the aftermath of the incident, with authorities reviewing protocols for public interactions.
