MUMBAI — The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted a series of late-night raids across Mumbai’s suburbs, detaining four individuals for their suspected connections to a Pakistan-based terrorist organization. The operation, which took place late Monday and concluded in the early hours of Tuesday, March 3, 2026, targeted four specific locations following precise intelligence regarding anti-national activities.

According to official sources, the tactical teams raided three premises in the eastern suburb of Govandi and one additional location in Kurla. During the crackdown, investigators seized “incriminating evidence,” including digital devices and documents, which are currently being analyzed. The four suspects were reportedly in regular contact with members of a Pakistan-based terror group that is currently banned in India under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The detainees are currently being interrogated at an undisclosed location to determine the extent of their involvement and whether any specific plans for disruption were being coordinated. “The suspects were maintaining communication with handlers across the border,” an ATS official stated, adding that the agency is investigating if any local modules were being established. This high-alert operation comes amidst heightened regional tensions, and the ATS has indicated that further probes are underway to identify other potential associates linked to the network.
