Chandigarh, 27 February 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday reacted to the recent court order discharging Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, senior party leader Manish Sisodia, and others in the excise policy case. The Chief Minister said the development reinforces the party’s long-standing position regarding the alleged misuse of central agencies.
In a video message, Bhagwant Singh Mann described the court’s decision as significant in the broader political context. He stated that the case had been an attempt to politically target AAP leaders at a time when the party was expanding its presence in various states.
“Court Order Reflects Judicial Process”
The Chief Minister said that the discharge of charges demonstrates that legal processes ultimately bring clarity. He thanked supporters who stood by the party leadership during the proceedings.
Mann further remarked that the case has triggered debate around the functioning of investigative agencies and their role in political matters.
Bhagwant Singh Mann referred to political developments in Delhi, noting that several senior leaders of the party had faced legal action during election periods. He said the recent court order would be viewed by party workers as validation of their leadership.

The Chief Minister concluded his remarks by stating that transparent governance and citizen-centric policies are essential for strengthening democratic institutions.
