Chandigarh, 26 February 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to industrial growth and investor facilitation, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government on Thursday inaugurated a ₹300 crore dairy feed plant of Cargill Private Limited at Industrial Park, Wazirabad in Mandi Gobindgarh. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to strengthen Punjab’s agro-industrial ecosystem and enhance support to dairy farmers across the region.
The plant was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power and Local Government, Sanjeev Arora. Addressing the gathering, he said that under the leadership of National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab is witnessing substantial industrial investments through the Invest Punjab initiative.

Major Investment in Dairy Sector
Spread across 15 acres, the Cargill dairy feed plant has an annual production capacity of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes and is being described as the largest dairy feed manufacturing unit in South Asia. This marks Cargill’s second major investment in Punjab after its Bathinda facility.
The project is expected to strengthen Punjab’s agro-industrial value chain and further position the state as a key hub in the agriculture and food processing sectors.
Employment and Economic Impact
Minister Sanjeev Arora stated that growing investor confidence reflects Punjab’s emergence as a preferred destination for industrial investments. He emphasized that such projects are generating employment opportunities for youth and accelerating overall economic growth in the state.
Local MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai said that the new plant is expected to create employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 young people in the region, contributing to local economic development.
Direct Benefits to Dairy Farmers
Highlighting the advantages for farmers, the Minister said that the plant will ensure local availability of high-quality cattle feed, which will improve milk yield, enhance milk quality and increase farmers’ income.
The scientifically formulated feed is expected to improve animal health and productivity, thereby strengthening Punjab’s dairy sector. The Minister expressed confidence that Punjab, already known as the “food bowl of India,” could soon emerge as a leading milk supplier to other states as well.
Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026
During media interaction, Minister Sanjeev Arora also highlighted the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled from March 13 to 15 in Mohali. The summit is expected to witness participation from national and international investors.
He said the Punjab Government is making consistent efforts to position the state among the top industrial destinations in India. Industrialists, he added, have expressed satisfaction with the proactive and business-friendly policies of the government.
