Chandigarh: The Government of Punjab will present its state budget in the Legislative Assembly on March 8, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced during his visit to Gujarat.
Speaking to journalists, Mann clarified that the Punjab government will not impose any new taxes in this year’s budget. He also assured that there will be no increase in existing tax rates.
The Chief Minister said the upcoming budget will focus on strengthening the state’s financial position while ensuring relief to the public. He reiterated the government’s commitment to people-centric policies and fiscal responsibility.
The announcement has raised expectations among various sections, including traders, industrialists and salaried employees, who were awaiting clarity on taxation measures.
