Amritsar (Punjab): Punjab took a major step towards boosting its industrial growth as Industries and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora today launched the initiative “Rising Punjab – From Suggestions to Solutions” from the holy city of Amritsar. The program aims to create a direct channel between the state government and industrialists to improve industrial policy and attract new investment.

The event brought together industrialists from Majha, including representatives from Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Batala, and Pathankot. Arora said similar programs would be organized across other major cities of Punjab to spread awareness about industry-friendly policies, build investor confidence, and encourage employment generation. He stressed that the government intends to move beyond words and take concrete action on the concerns raised by business leaders.

Calling Amritsar the “city of Gurus” and the “gateway of Punjab,” the minister highlighted its global potential, particularly in the hospitality sector. He noted that Punjab has introduced unique schemes through the Punjab State Industries and Export Corporation that, according to him, no other state has matched. “Investors across the country praise Punjab’s initiatives, and it is our duty to keep working for industrialists,” he said.

Arora referred to industrialists as the “brand ambassadors of Punjab” and assured them of full support in resolving their issues. He emphasized their role in paying taxes and creating jobs for youth, underlining the government’s responsibility to safeguard their interests.

During the event, Arora also announced immediate measures, including the construction of a Unity Mall in Amritsar, provision of fire brigade vehicles for industrial parks, and upgradation of the ESI Hospital with Central government funds. He said the neglected Goindwal Sahib industrial area would be transformed into a new industrial hub.

He concluded by inviting industrialists from Majha to actively participate in the Punjab Invest Summit scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2026, in Mohali, calling it an opportunity to showcase the state’s new vision for industry and investment.
