Tijara, August 19, 2025: Police have arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly murdering her husband in Kheirathal Tijara district.

Laxmi Devi and Jitendra Sharma, the son of the couple’s landlord, were taken into custody on Monday night. Police said the two admitted to killing Hansram and fleeing after concealing his body in a plastic tank.

The case surfaced on Sunday in the Kishangarhbas police station area. Superintendent of Police Manish Chaudhary said investigators found that the murder was planned to cover up the pair’s affair. According to him, Hansram was killed on the night of August 15, and his body was discovered inside a blue plastic drum placed on the roof of the family’s rented house.

Laxmi had reportedly borrowed the drum from her landlord, claiming it was needed for storing water. After the crime, she and Jitendra took away the couple’s three children, who have since been handed over to their grandfather.
