Agra: A Polish man and a taxi driver from Agra were killed in a tragic road accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway (KMP Expressway) on Wednesday morning under the Sadar Palwal police station limits.

A Polish woman travelling with the man sustained serious injuries after their cab was hit from behind by a dumper truck. Police have registered a case against the unidentified dumper driver, who fled the scene with the vehicle.

According to police, Nafees, a resident of Basai in Agra, worked as a taxi driver in Delhi. On Wednesday morning, he received a booking for a visit to the Taj Mahal. He first drove to a hotel in Gurugram, where he picked up 29-year-old Polish national Majdzik and 27-year-old Agnieszka before heading towards Agra.

Around 6:30 am, a dumper truck reportedly rammed into their car from behind on the KMP Expressway. The impact caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into a truck parked on the roadside. The car was completely mangled in the collision.

Passersby gathered at the spot and alerted police and ambulance services. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Majdzik and Nafees dead. Agnieszka was said to be in critical condition and was referred to a higher medical centre for advanced treatment.

A senior police officer said the bodies have been kept in the mortuary. The families of the deceased are being informed, and the Polish embassy is also being contacted.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
