MOGA: At a Village Defence Committee (VDC) oath ceremony in Moga, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann delivered a strong message on Punjab’s anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashean Virudh”, asserting that the current government is taking strict action to eliminate the drug menace in the state. Kejriwal said that over 2,000 kilograms of drugs have been seized, major traffickers have been jailed, and their illegal properties demolished, claiming the drive has strengthened public trust and encouraged people to support authorities in curbing drug trafficking.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reiterated that the campaign aims to eradicate the problem of “chitta” and ensure a drug-free Punjab through strict enforcement and preventive measures. He highlighted that the government is promoting youth engagement by developing sports infrastructure in villages and creating employment opportunities to steer young people away from addiction, while also focusing on rehabilitation of victims and dismantling drug supply networks.

The leaders described the anti-drug drive as a major governance initiative aimed at restoring public confidence and social stability. They emphasized the role of Village Defence Committees in strengthening community participation, sharing information with authorities, and building a mass movement to eliminate drugs and ensure a safer future for the state.
