North Korea: North Korea said on Monday that it has completed a new residential complex in Pyongyang for the families of its soldiers who fought and lost their lives on Russia’s side in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

This move is the latest step by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to pay tribute to the soldiers killed in the war.

Photos released by state media showed Kim walking along the new road of the residential complex and visiting the homes of some soldiers. He was accompanied by his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, who is considered her father’s successor.

In recent months, North Korea has heavily praised and promoted the soldiers sent to fight in Russia’s war against Ukraine. A memorial wall and a museum have also been built in the country. Experts believe this move is an attempt to foster unity and reduce the risk of public discontent.

In recent months, Kim has sent thousands of soldiers, missiles, and large quantities of military equipment to assist Russia in its war against Ukraine. The two countries are believed to be uniting to face a confrontation with Washington.

South Korea’s National Intelligence Agency told lawmakers last week that North Korea suffered about 6,000 casualties in the war, although the intelligence agency did not specify how many were killed.
