Jalandhar: PM SHRI KV No. 1, Jalandhar Cantt, organized a grand felicitation ceremony on February 9, 2026, to honor the distinguished Batch of 1981 (Class X) . The alumni were received by Principal Mr. Honey Mehta and escorted by NCC cadets after a traditional Tilak ceremony to a special prayer meet.
The event sparked nostalgia as veterans stood in the school assembly alongside current students. The program featured a poem recitation, dance performances , release of school magazine and speech by Principal besides.
This high-achieving batch boasts an incredible legacy, including 11 defense officers (6 NDA, 5 CDS), 5 doctors, 2 engineers, a DIG of Punjab Police, a PCS officer ,renowned professors at PAU , Ludhiana and Symbiosis Institute , Pune . The Batch also has 3-4 successful enterpreneurs and 2 dedicated teachers at DPS Noida and APS.
In their address, alumni Col. Ashok Thakur (Retd) ,Dr.PuneetSindhwani, and Prof.MadhuriMaitra shared cherished memories. They urged students to master their basics and believe in themselves to achieve success. The batch on their part presented a Heavy duty line printer Canon make and are in the process of selecting 3-4 academically brilliant , financially average students from classX-XII beside 1-2 specially abled students for mentoring , coaching besides financial assistance if required. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem. The function marked celebrating a lifelong bond between the school and its legends.
