Bathinda: In a major development in the murder case of digital content creator Kamal Kaur, also known as Kanchan Kumari or “Bhabhi Kamal Kaur,” a Bathinda court has declared the prime accused, Amritpal Singh Mehron, a proclaimed offender (PO).

The court’s decision is expected to strengthen police efforts to initiate international action against Mehron, including the issuance of a Red Corner Notice through Interpol to facilitate his arrest and extradition.

According to police officials, Mehron allegedly fled the country shortly after committing the crime in June last year. Investigators believe he is currently hiding in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Despite multiple court notices directing him to appear, Mehron failed to comply, prompting the court to formally declare him a proclaimed offender.

Police have identified Amritpal Singh Mehron as the mastermind behind the murder of Kamal Kaur, a well-known digital content creator. Three of his alleged accomplices — Jaspreet, Nimratjit and Ranjit Singh — have already been arrested in connection with the case.

Law enforcement agencies, in coordination with central authorities, are now working to trace Mehron’s exact location and secure his return to India through international legal channels.

The case has drawn significant public attention, and police officials said the investigation is ongoing, with efforts focused on bringing the absconding accused to justice at the earliest.
