CEC Gyanesh Kumar Rejects Double Voting Allegations as Politically Motivated

New Delhi — Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday dismissed allegations of double voting, describing them as baseless and politically driven.

“Some voters alleged double voting. When asked for proof, no answer was given. Neither the Election Commission nor any voter is afraid of such false allegations,” Kumar said.

He warned that attempts to drag the Election Commission into political controversies by targeting voters would not succeed.

“When politics is being done by targeting the voters of India by keeping a gun on the shoulder of the Election Commission, the Commission wants to make it clear to everyone that it has stood fearlessly like a rock with all voters of every section and religion including the poor, rich, elderly, women, and youth without any discrimination, and will continue to do so,” he asserted.

The CEC reiterated that the Election Commission’s foremost responsibility is to protect the rights and dignity of every voter, ensuring free and fair elections throughout the country.
