Ludhiana, January 31, 2026: Under the Ludhiana prize ceremony, Sanatan Seva Samiti Punjab and Ved Prachar Mandal Punjab jointly organized a grand award function at BCM School, Ludhiana. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia attended the ceremony as chief guests. On this occasion, Sanatan Seva Samiti Punjab President Vijay Sharma and Ved Prachar Mandal Punjab President Roshan Lal Arya were also specially present.
While addressing the gathering, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that being the Education Minister is a great responsibility. He stated that if we want to bring any positive change in society, the most effective medium is education. The kind of state or country we wish to build can only be achieved by imparting the same values and principles to our children through education.
He said that although the Aam Aadmi Party is not in power in Delhi today, the model developed in Delhi’s government schools under the leadership of Manish Sisodia remains exemplary and inspirational for the entire country. He compared children to young plants and said that when a plant is small, it can be shaped in any desired way. Similarly, when children are young, they can be molded through a strong and effective education system. The Education Minister also praised teachers for their dedicated efforts and encouraged them to continue connecting students with their heritage, culture, and right values.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, while addressing the ceremony, said that this Ludhiana prize ceremony is unique in many ways. He stated that he has been associated with the education system and politics for nearly ten years, but such programs are rarely seen. He gave credit for this initiative to Sanatan Seva Samiti Punjab, Ved Prachar Mandal Punjab, the principal of BCM School, and the students.

He said that Vijay Sharma, Roshan Lal Arya, and principals of various schools have come together with a larger vision to ensure that students are taught the knowledge of the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, and the Gita. He urged students not only to read this spiritual and cultural knowledge but also to implement it in their daily lives.
Manish Sisodia further said that today the world is trying to understand the universe through scientific laboratories, whether it is about electrons, neutrons, protons, or whether everything in the universe is solid or only waves. He added that what modern science is trying to understand today was already realized by our sages and gurus thousands of years ago and documented in ancient scriptures.
He said that when children move ahead after learning from the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Gita, and other sacred literature, they will become great scientists. When children learn to look within themselves, they will be able to understand every particle of existence.
Manish Sisodia emphasized that every Indian must realize that what scientists like Einstein explained later had already been understood by our sages and gurus thousands of years ago. He said it is unfortunate that instead of valuing this ancient knowledge, society has become trapped in narrow ideas such as casteism. He added that in today’s age of social media, people’s minds are being filled with unnecessary clutter, and this clutter can be cleansed through the teachings of the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Gita, and other spiritual texts.
For the past one year, a speech competition has been organized to connect students with culture and the Vedas, in which 296 students from 25 schools participated. During the Ludhiana prize ceremony, the winners of the speech competition and the principals of participating schools were honored by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Manish Sisodia.

On this occasion, Vijay Sharma, Roshan Lal Arya, and Kusum Ahuja honored the chief guests by presenting them with mementos. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
Later, while interacting with the media along with Manish Sisodia, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Union Government’s budget is approaching. He stated that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has strongly presented Punjab’s demands before the Union Home Minister. He said that Punjab suffered heavy losses last year due to Operation Sindoor and floods.
He further demanded that the Central Government should provide a special relief package to Punjab and release Punjab’s rightful dues, including RDFS funds and amounts under other schemes. He also demanded an increased budget allocation for education. He said that if India truly wants to become a superpower, education will play a decisive role, and at least 10 percent of the national budget should be allocated to the education sector.
