Delhi Police ASI Ravinder Dies by Suicide at Home in Sonipat

Delhi: Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ravinder, posted with the District Investigation Unit (DIU) of Outer North district, allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Kharkhoda, Sonipat district, on Wednesday morning, officials said.

According to police, Ravinder reportedly consumed a poisonous substance at his home. His family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The incident is believed to have occurred in the early hours of the day.

“Family members noticed his condition and took him to the hospital immediately, but he could not be revived,” a police officer said.

Ravinder joined Delhi Police in 1998 and had nearly 28 years of service. He is survived by his mother, wife, a daughter, and a son. Authorities said the department is extending support to the family and completing necessary legal formalities.

The police have not disclosed further details, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.
