Noida: A security alert was sounded across several private schools in Noida on Friday after threatening emails warning of a bomb presence were received, prompting swift action from local authorities. Police officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control quickly and no untoward incident was reported.
Following the alerts, senior police officers along with teams from nearby police stations rushed to the schools mentioned in the emails. Bomb disposal units, dog squads, fire service personnel and specialised BDDS teams were deployed to thoroughly inspect the premises as a precautionary measure.
According to a police statement, extensive searches were carried out in the affected institutions to rule out any potential threat. At the same time, a dedicated cyber team began examining the emails to identify their origin and assess the credibility of the messages.
Authorities assured parents, students and school staff that there was no cause for panic. “The situation is completely under control, and peace and order have been maintained at all locations. Citizens are requested not to believe or spread rumours,” the police said.
Officials indicated that an initial review suggests the emails lacked specific details, pointing towards the possibility of a hoax. However, investigations are ongoing to trace the sender and determine the motive behind the messages.
Security agencies remain on alert as the inquiry continues, while schools have been advised to follow standard safety protocols and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
