CAQM Lifts GRAP-4 Curbs in Delhi-NCR as Air Quality Shows Slight Improvement

New Delhi: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Tuesday announced the withdrawal of Stage-IV restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in the Delhi-NCR region following a marginal improvement in air quality levels.

According to official data, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 378 on Tuesday, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category. This marks a slight improvement compared to an AQI of 410 on Monday and 440 on Sunday, when pollution levels had remained in the ‘severe’ range.

Based on the improving trend, the CAQM decided to revoke the strictest set of curbs imposed under GRAP-4, while closely monitoring the situation to ensure air quality does not deteriorate again. However, authorities have cautioned that pollution levels remain a concern and further action may be taken if conditions worsen.

The commission continues to assess meteorological conditions and pollution trends on a daily basis to determine the need for additional measures in the coming days.
