Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Malvinder Singh Kang, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding strict action against BJP leaders responsible for circulating a fake and doctored video that hurt Sikh religious sentiments. Kang said forensic investigations by both Punjab and Delhi Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) confirmed that the video was fabricated and maliciously edited to falsely attribute derogatory remarks about Sikh Gurus to Delhi’s former Chief Minister Atishi. He described the circulation of the video as a deliberate attempt to incite communal disharmony.

Kang accused BJP leader Kapil Mishra of weaponising Sikh faith for political gain and said the act was a “conscious deception” targeting the core values of Sikhism. He urged the Prime Minister to intervene decisively, including removing Mishra from all positions of authority and publicly condemning his actions, warning that silence or inaction could be seen as consent. Kang emphasized that the incident, which coincided with the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, was a grave moral transgression.

The MP further stressed that strong and timely intervention by the Prime Minister would restore faith in the justice system, reaffirm the sanctity of Sikh Gurus, and send a clear message that no political ambition can override religious values. Kang reiterated that Punjab will not tolerate attempts to divide society or malign religious beliefs for political advantage and will continue to stand firmly for truth, harmony, and justice.
