Chandigarh: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday announced that the Mann-led government has extended the Amnesty Policy 2025. The move is aimed at providing relief to defaulting plot allottees across Punjab, allowing them a fresh opportunity to regularize their properties. The policy covers allotted and auctioned plots under various schemes of the Housing and Urban Development Department. Defaulting allottees can now apply under the extended policy till March 31, 2026, and must deposit the pending dues within three months of approval by the concerned Development Authority.

The Cabinet Minister explained that the decision is a people-friendly initiative to address long-pending housing issues. Families and institutions facing hardships due to accumulated dues and procedural delays will now have a chance to settle their payments and complete construction. Eligible allottees can deposit outstanding dues in lump sum with interest but without penalties, while non-construction charges will be waived by 50%. For institutional sites, hospital sites, and industrial plots, a 2.5% extension fee will be applicable, with a three-year period to fulfill allotment conditions, including construction.

Hardeep Singh Mundian urged all affected plot holders to take advantage of the extended policy. He said the Mann Government is committed to resolving housing-related issues in a practical and fair manner, giving citizens the chance to regularize their properties and move forward.
