JALANDHAR: Braving the biting cold, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday held a Lok Milni in Jalandhar, directly engaging with people from various Assembly constituencies and patiently listening to their grievances. Emphasising that direct public interaction is the backbone of transparent and responsive governance, the Chief Minister said that sustained pro-people initiatives—ranging from free electricity and large-scale employment to healthcare and education reforms—are significantly easing the burden on common families and putting Punjab firmly back on the path of progress.

CM Mann said that Lok Milnis will remain a regular feature of governance as they help the government understand ground realities and ensure effective resolution of public grievances. “The core objective of Lok Milnis is to streamline the system and resolve people’s issues promptly, thereby accelerating the overall development of the state. Our government is fully committed to providing transparent, efficient and accountable governance to every citizen,” he said, adding that Punjab would soon re-emerge as a frontrunner state through sustained people-centric policies.

Highlighting major achievements, the Chief Minister said that 90 percent of households are receiving free electricity, over 63,000 youth have been provided government jobs transparently, and 17 toll plazas have been shut, saving commuters around ₹64 lakh daily. He said that 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics are delivering free healthcare across the state, while major reforms in education—including Schools of Eminence and special coaching for competitive exams—have drawn national appreciation. Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
