Mathura: A fire incident was reported at the residential flat of spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj in Mathura, triggering panic among residents of the housing society. The blaze broke out at Flat No. 212 in Govinda HR Apartments, located within Shri Krishna Sharanam Society, resulting in damage to household belongings kept inside the flat.

According to information, the incident caused fear and chaos in the society after flames were noticed inside the apartment. Upon receiving the alert, a police team rushed to the spot along with two fire brigade vehicles. After sustained efforts, firefighters managed to bring the fire under control. While no casualties were reported, several items inside the flat were reportedly destroyed in the blaze.

Premanand Maharaj was not present at the flat at the time of the incident and is said to be safe. He has been staying at Shri Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Raman Reti for the past month and visits the flat only occasionally. At the time the fire broke out, he was at the ashram.

The flat is equipped with ICU-like medical facilities due to Premanand Maharaj’s fragile health condition. He is undergoing treatment after both his kidneys failed and requires dialysis multiple times a week. Authorities are yet to assess the extent of damage caused to the medical equipment and health-related infrastructure inside the apartment.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, while society residents have expressed concern over safety measures. Further details are expected once a complete assessment of the damage is carried out.
