According to police officials, Verka was taken into custody in connection with the incident in which the vigilance team was allegedly prevented from carrying out its official duties during the raid at the former minister’s premises. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to two days of police custody for further questioning.

Sources said Davinder Singh Verka is employed at Bikram Singh Majithia’s residence in Amritsar and was present at the premises at the time of the vigilance action.
