Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday granted bail to senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Nardev Singh, popularly known as Bobby Mann, in a case related to violence during the 2024 panchayat elections.

Bobby Mann, son of the late Zora Singh Mann, a three-time Member of Parliament from Ferozepur, had been arrested by Punjab Police following a clash that erupted during the nomination process for the village polls. He had also contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Ferozepur constituency on an SAD ticket.

The case stems from an FIR registered in Jalalabad area of Fazilka district. The complaint named Bobby Mann, his brother Vardev Singh alias Nonni Mann, and several others. The allegations include firing, criminal intimidation and attempt to murder during a confrontation outside the office of the Block Development and Panchayat Officer when nomination papers were being filed.

After hearing the arguments, the High Court allowed Mann’s bail plea, offering him relief in the case. Further proceedings in the matter are expected to continue as per law.
