Gurugram: Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla on Wednesday announced the launch of its first charging station in Gurugram, marking a key step in the company’s efforts to build a strong and reliable EV charging ecosystem in India.

The new facility has been set up at DLF Horizon Center and is aimed at providing Tesla customers with faster and more convenient charging solutions. In a statement, the company said the launch reflects its commitment to enabling seamless and sustainable mobility while supporting the broader adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

Tesla India General Manager Sharad Agarwal said the company is focused on developing a complete ecosystem to support electric mobility. He noted that EV adoption depends not only on vehicles but also on the availability of accessible and efficient charging infrastructure. Agarwal added that Tesla is planning its charging network around customer lifestyles to ensure ease of use and flexibility.

The Supercharging site, located in the surface parking area of Horizon Center, features four V4 Superchargers capable of delivering peak charging speeds of up to 250 kW. In addition, the station includes three destination chargers offering charging speeds of 11 kW, catering to varied customer requirements. According to the company, a Tesla Model Y can gain up to 275 kilometres of driving range in just 15 minutes using the Supercharger.

With the addition of the Gurugram facility, Tesla now operates three charging stations across India. These sites collectively house 12 Superchargers and 10 destination chargers, further expanding the company’s charging footprint as it looks to support the growing EV market in the country.
