Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol remembered his late father and legendary actor Dharmendra on what would have been his 90th birthday, sharing a heartfelt message on social media.

Dharmendra, whose iconic career spanned over six decades, passed away on November 24 in Mumbai at the age of 89, just weeks shy of celebrating his 90th birthday. Sunny Deol marked the occasion on Monday by posting a video on his Instagram account, showing his father smiling against a backdrop of mountains.

“Today is my father’s birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me. Love you, papa. Miss you,” Sunny captioned the post, expressing his enduring bond with the Bollywood legend.

Dharmendra had been hospitalized on November 10 in critical condition. The situation gained unwanted attention when several media outlets prematurely reported his death on November 11, prompting a strong reaction from his family. Malini, a family spokesperson, condemned the false reports on X, calling them “extremely disrespectful and irresponsible” and urged the media to respect the family’s privacy.

The veteran actor was discharged from the hospital a day later and brought to his Juhu residence, where he passed away peacefully. He was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai, leaving behind a legacy cherished by millions of fans worldwide.

Sunny Deol’s tribute underscores the deep respect and love he holds for his father, whose contribution to Indian cinema continues to inspire generations.
