Hyderabad: A bomb threat email sent to the customer support ID of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Friday morning triggered a full emergency response for an Emirates flight arriving from Dubai. The message, received around 7.30 am, warned of explosives on flight EK526, which landed safely at 8.30 am.

Airport authorities immediately activated standard security procedures after the aircraft touched down. Officials isolated the Boeing 777-300ER, conducted detailed checks of luggage and passengers, deployed sniffer dogs, and kept fire engines on standby as part of the precautionary measures.

Flight EK526 had departed from Dubai at 3.51 am. The threat added to rising concerns at the Hyderabad airport, which had already received two similar emails a day earlier targeting IndiGo’s Madina–Hyderabad and Sharjah–Hyderabad flights. The Madina–Hyderabad flight was diverted to Ahmedabad as a safety measure.

Security agencies are investigating the source of the emails, which have come in quick succession and prompted heightened vigilance across the airport.
