New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) an additional seven days of custody of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, extending his remand until December 5. The order was issued by Special Judge Prashant Sharma during proceedings held at the NIA headquarters under heightened security arrangements.

Bishnoi, who was recently deported from the United States on November 18, is under investigation for his alleged involvement in multiple high-profile crimes. He is wanted in cases linked to the murder of NCP leader Siddique, the April 2024 shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence, and his suspected role in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol had been on the run since 2022 and was detained in the U.S. late last year before being handed over to Indian authorities. He was initially remanded to 11 days of NIA custody on November 19.

Investigators describe Anmol as a key figure in the terror–gangster network allegedly coordinated by his brother. With his arrest, he becomes the 19th accused to be apprehended in the ongoing probe into the syndicate’s activities.

The NIA is expected to use the extended custody to further examine his communications, financial links, and suspected coordination with operatives abroad as part of its broader crackdown on organised crime and terror-funded networks.
