Imran Khan’s Sisters Demand Proof of His Well-Being as Adiala Jail Authorities Deny Health Rumours

Islamabad (Pakistan): Imran Khan’s sisters intensified their appeals on Wednesday, demanding clear updates on the former Prime Minister’s health amid mounting concerns over reports of solitary confinement and restricted access. Noreen Khan, Aleema Khan, and Uzma Khan gathered outside Adiala Jail late Tuesday night with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters, urging authorities to allow them to meet their brother after repeated requests were denied. Their protest grew tense as claims surfaced online suggesting Khan’s declining health and even unverified reports of his death in custody.

The jail administration later dismissed the speculation, calling it baseless. Officials said Khan had not been moved from the facility and remained “completely healthy,” receiving full medical attention inside the prison. They insisted there was “no truth” to rumours of his transfer or any emergency situation.

Khan has been incarcerated for more than two years on a series of corruption and terrorism charges. Reports alleging he had been shifted into solitary confinement added to the anxiety of his family, who say they have been kept in the dark about his condition for weeks.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that the former PM was living far more comfortably than suggested by PTI. According to Asif, Khan has access to a television, exercise equipment, and a specialised diet “not available even in a five-star hotel.” He added that Khan had been provided a double bed and a velvet mattress, suggesting that the PTI chief’s prison conditions were humane and secure.

Despite the government’s assurances, Khan’s sisters continue to demand direct access to verify his condition themselves, saying that only a personal meeting could put their fears to rest.
