Uttarakhand CM Announces ₹5 Lakh Aid, Rehabilitation Plan for Dharali Disaster Victims

Dehradun — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday announced an immediate financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each for the next of kin of those killed and for families who lost their homes in the Dharali disaster.

The chief minister also declared the formation of a three-member committee tasked with rehabilitation efforts, overall revival, and the strengthening of sustainable livelihoods for affected villagers. Chaired by the Secretary (Revenue), the panel will submit its preliminary report within a week.

The committee will prepare a blueprint for a long-term and effective policy aimed at securing the safety and livelihood of Dharali’s residents, ensuring lasting recovery and resilience in the disaster-hit area.
