Panjab University to Host ‘Student Science Village’ During IISF 2025

Chandigarh: With the aim of increasing students’ interest in science and connecting them with modern scientific thinking, the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, along with the India Meteorological Department, is organising the India International Science Festival–2025 (IISF–2025). As part of this series, the ‘Student Science Village’ programme will be held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from December 6 to 9, 2025.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that the Director General, Science and Technology Department and Department of Higher Education, Haryana, has been designated as the nodal officers for this event.

The spokesperson further said that during the programme, 35 students from Classes 8 to 11 and 5 teachers from each district of Haryana will participate. Separate arrangements will be made for buses to transport the participants to the venue and bring them back.

The spokesperson said that special transportation facilities will be provided to ensure the daily participation of 2,000 students from Panchkula and nearby areas. In addition, one copy of the programme details has been sent to the Higher Education Department, School Education Department, Transport Department, Tourism Department, Hospitality Department, and the Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, so that all departments can extend their support in coordination.
